At the beginning of 2020, amid the complex situation of continuous turbulence for global oil price and market caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic, DSIC, the subsidiary of CSSC, has received good news. The successful winning bid of the maintenance and reconstruction project of "Magellan" jack-up drilling platform for Shandong Offshore Equipment Co. injected confidence into the development of the industry and caused a positive response.
The platform, managed by Northern Offshore (Qingdao) of Shandong Offshore Equipment Co., has arrived at the maintenance terminal from West Africa recently. According to the plan, the platform will carry out offshore oil and gas operations in domestic waters after maintenance and reconstruction.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, DSIC has focused on epidemic prevention and control with one hand and on resuming production with the other. Under the complex situation, DSIC faced the difficulties, actively explored the domestic and foreign markets, and won the platform maintenance and reconstruction project. In 2019, under the macro situation of the sluggish global offshore platform market, DSIC successfully restarted and delivered two jack-up drilling platforms for CPTDC in just three months, which fully demonstrated our excellent construction capacity, technical level and professional quality.
