On May 8, 2020, the 308k DWT VLCC, constructed for the leasing company of CSTC by DSIC, was christened and delivered successfully. Three representatives from DSIC, CSTC and the leasing company signed the delivery agreement. The secretary of the Party Committee&chairman of CSSC Li Hongtao, and DSIC leaders Yang Zhizhong, Deng Changlian and Zhang Yuhuan attended the ceremony. And Ms. Li Yinxi, honored guest for chiristening and chief accountant of CSTC, named the ship as "CSSC Liaoning".

Independently developed by DSIC, the ship “CSSC Liaoning” is a new generation of brand ship type with strong market competition. It also belongs to the unrestricted service ship type with a navigation radius of more than 25k nautical miles. The ship has a total length of about 332.95 meters, a molded breadth of 60 meters and a maximum deadweight capacity of 308k DWT. When the navigational draft is 20.5 meters, it can normally lade 2 million barrels of crude oil through the Straits of Malacca. Besides, the ship has a significant characteristic of energy saving. Combined the excellent molded hull line, the more energy-saving G type main engine, new propellers with large diameter and high performance ,and energy-efficient combination devices, located before and after propellers, with proprietary intellectual property rights, the ship has an obvious comprehensive energy-saving effect. Through actual verification, its energy-saving effect is better than the technical indexes of design requirement that saves much operating costs for ship owners.
