On Jan.15, 2019, DSIC and Zhonghang International Leasing Co., Ltd. signed the shipbuilding contracts of ten 85000DWT bulk carriers in Dalian, where Avic International Leasing Co., Ltd. General Manager and Vice Party Secretary Zhao Zhuping, Ship Leasing Department Zhu Jiafeng, Xincheng Shipping Executive Director Dong Hai, General Manager Gao Dehui, DSIC leaders Yang Zhizhong and Yao Hongshan attended the signing ceremony.

This project is the first batch of orders for DSIC to sign in 2019, which is another breakthrough for receiving orders of products of the same kind to form a batch, following contracting of 82000DWT bulk carriers in 2018, playing positive role in cost control and boosting competitiveness of DSIC in shipbuilding market effectively.

The 85000DWT bulk carrier is a type of shallow-draft Post-Panama bulk carrier, which is, to compare with the traditional Kamsar bulk carriers, larger in hold capacity and deadweight,  stronger in harbor suitability and better in economy, meeting the rules and regulations for NOX and SOX emissions with powerful market competitiveness.

The shipowner AVIC International Leasing Co., Ltd. is subordinated to the state groups, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, one of pilot finance leasing enterprises in the first batch approved for establishment by the Ministry of Commerce and State Bureau of Taxation, whose major business contains plane, ship, machine electricity and transportation facility, financial leasing for major project investment and operating lease, involved home and abroad. The charter Xincheng Shipping Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary holding company of Shandong Shipping Corporation established in Singapore, a joint venture between Shandong Shipping and Hengyue Enterprise, professionally involved in carriage of dry bulk cargoes for Panamax and Kamsar ships, and committed to furnish a high-quality and reliable logistic service. Major carrying cargoes include bulk commodity of grain, coal, iron ore and textile, etc., and its scope of service covers various global major harbors.

This contract signing is a good start of cooperation between DSIC and AVIC Leasing, which is not only a successful demonstration of win-win cooperation in resisting crisis in austere market conditions, but also a commemorate milestone in the history of development for both parties, and will lay a solid foundation for both parties to seek for greater development.
